A Special Evening with Bill Plympton and Premiere Screening of Adventures in Plymptoons!
In Person: Two-time Academy Award-nominee artist and animator Bill Plympton and filmmaker Alexia Anastasio
Northport-based filmmaker and Cinema Arts Centre promoter Alexia Anastasio had a dream to bring attention to the world of independently-made art. After three years of labor, she poured her resources into a documentary subject worthy of representing that spirit-- two-time Academy Award-nominee, artist and animator Bill Plympton. Plympton is world-renowned for his cartoon shorts and feature films, including Idiots & Angels, Guard Dog, Mutant Aliens and I Married A Strange Person and his work on MTV, in a career that spans three decades.
The result is the documentary is "Adventures In Plymptoons!," having it's Long Island premiere at Cinema Arts Centre, where it all began for Anastasio, her love of movies stemming from coming to the Cinema Arts as a child.
